Reports claimed that the K-pop star has been secretly dating the actress since 2018. A YouTuber raised suspicions that Jungkook and Lee Yoo Bi have been dropping hints about their hush-hush romance in the form of photos and social media posts. In the video, the YouTuber shared a couple of posts by the two stars and spotted similarities while claiming that the two are in fact in a secret relationship.
However, before anything could spiral out of proportion, Lee Yoo Bi's label shot down the reports and claimed that the actress didn't even personally know the singer. An insider revealed to Soompi.com, "I've heard about the dating rumours a couple of times. But as far as I know, she doesn't even personally know Jungkook. I've asked her before and she said she knows SUGA though."
He continued, "When I asked her about the dating rumours, she just laughed. She was laughing because it was so obviously false."
Both Jungkook and Lee Yoo Bi have denied the rumour, with their reps claiming the reports are "groundless and untrue."
This is yet another instance when BTS band members have been surrounded by false rumours. Earlier, V was rumoured to be dating the daughter of a hotelier. He was also linked to BLACKPINK star Jennie after he accidentally followed her on Instagram.
V, as well as BTS’ management company, are reportedly planning to take stronger actions against those spreading false and malicious rumours. While V said he will be suing a YouTuber for false allegations, Big Hit Music announced in June that it will be taking legal action against the authors of malicious posts containing defamatory, abusive, false and malicious content against BTS members. The label went the legal route to ensure strict measures were taken and vouched to intensify legal actions against those who continue to spread malicious content.
