Fight, flight, or freeze? Those are the three options TXT (Tomorrow X Together) are giving MOAs in the new concept trailer for The Chaos Chapter: FREEZE, unveiled on May 10.
In line with previous concept teasers from the quintet, the clip feels like a whole movie. It starts off with the five members nonchalantly playing games at an arcade. A snowball suddenly hits Beomgyu in the back of his head, but they pay no mind to it. When leader Soobin leans to insert another coin, something feels off: the coin slot is completely frozen. Resolutely, the quintet leaves the arcade to explore the deserted mall as various ice attacks ensue and, this time, Yeonjun (who now sports "icy" tattoos on his calves) is the one stranded.
Displaying their athleticism, they jump, crawl, pull Matrix-worthy moves, and, of course, dance their way through the mall in a series of action-packed, gravity-defying sequences until they reunite. But the scene ends up with the five members frozen and a mysterious silhouette clouding their gaze. “The silhouette of a girl emerges as light, and the ice that envelopes [the members] begins to melt,” BigHit Music shared in a press release.
BigHit Music confirmed TXT would be making a comeback in May in late April, following the success of their latest project Minisode1: Blue Hour. It was later announced that The Chaos Chapter: FREEZE, which will be the group’s second studio album, would release on May 31. As part of The Chaos Chapter: FREEZE comeback schedule, TXT will also be unveiling three different versions of concept photos, the full tracklist, and an album preview before the album's official release.
