  • BTS

    CBS

They're on "Friends: The Reunion"! Their favourite meal is causing lineups at McDonald's! But most importantly, the biggest group in the world has new music! Their recently unveiled new single "Butter" is set to storm the charts this summer, taking the South Korean boy band one step closer to their longtime goal of winning a Grammy Award. That new track is everywhere! But listen: it's not on this record. 'BTS: The Best' is their third Japanese-language compilation album, and it has the new Japanese song "Film Out". The bonus track is their big English language hit, "Dynamite". Is there a collector's edition of 'BTS: The Best'? Yes, in fact, there are seven different collector's editions, each with a unique combination of posters, photo cards, and album covers. There has never been a better time to hop on the BTS bandwagon.

It’s time. It’s been four years since the pop-rock band released ‘Red Pill Blues’. The album’s #1 hit “Girls Like You,” featuring Cardi B, was Vevo’s most watched video of 2018. ‘Jordi’, the followup due out June 11, has the standout lead single “Beautiful Mistakes” featuring Megan Thee Stallion. It’s just one of the many major collabs on an album that features blackbear, Stevie Nicks, H.E.R., up-and-coming Zimbabwean artist Bantu, and the late Juice WRLD. Remember “Memories” from way back in 2019? That triple-platinum single is on ‘Jordi’ too, along with a remix that features YG and the late legend Nipsey Hussle.

If there’s an album we’re anticipating as much as Drake’s ‘Certified Lover Boy’ (which still has no release date but hope springs eternal), it’s ‘Culture III’, the final instalment in the Culture trilogy from Atlanta hip-hop trio of Quavo, Offset and Takeoff. Since their last record, 2018’s ‘Culture II’, a string of tracks like "Need It" featuring YoungBoy Never Broke Again, "Taco Tuesday", "Racks 2 Skinny”, and the latest, "Straightenin’", have been building buzz for ‘Culture III’, which is out June 11.

Due to pandemic delays, we waited ages for ‘Chemtrails Over the Country Club’, which was finally released to commercial and critical acclaim in March. Now, just three months later, the 35-year-old indie-rock singer-songwriter is teasing a new record called ‘Rock Candy Sweet’, which is expected to drop on June 1. But! She’s also teasing ‘Blue Banisters’, a wholly different new album featuring the recently released title track that’s due out on July 4. Is she teasing us with these or will they actually come to fruition? Only time will tell.

  • Ruth B.

    Gabriel LN

The Edmonton R&B singer/songwriter behind the smash hit “Lost Boy” is back with a new album. ‘Moments In Between’ is due out on June 11. “Writing songs has always been therapeutic for me,” says the 25-year-old, who won the Juno for Breakthrough Artist in 2017. “I hope that hearing my songs helps other people in the same way. Whether they’re feeling lonely or heartbroken or happy, I want them to know that someone else understands what they’re going through.” The album’s latest single is the pop-fusion track “Die Fast”. Ruth is doing a global digital tour, which means she’s performing for North and South America on June 17, Asia, Australia and New Zealand on June 18, and Europe and Africa on June 19. Around the world in three dates. Get involved.

  • Gucci Mane

    Atlantic Records

The Grammy-nominated rap superstar will release 'Ice Daddy' on June 18, just in time for Father's Day. On the album cover, that's Mane's son with wife Keyshia Ka'oir. The baby's name is Ice, you guys. Ice Davis Mane. 'Ice Daddy' is the Atlanta-based trap star's 17th record. The latest single, "Sh*t Crazy", already has over seven million views on YouTube. Since his last album, 2019's 'Woptober II', Mane has been building his burgeoning record label, 1017 Records, home to up-and-coming rap star Pooh Shiesty.

‘Soberish’, the alt-indie queen’s first album of original material in 11 years, is out June 4. The followup to 2010’s ‘Funstyle’ features the new single “Spanish Doors". In a statement, Phair said, “I found my inspiration for ‘Soberish’ by delving into an early era of my music development, my art school years spent listening to art-rock and new wave music non-stop on my Walkman: the English Beat, the Specials, Madness, R.E.M.’s ‘Automatic for the People’, Yazoo, the Psychedelic Furs, Talking Heads, Velvet Underground, Laurie Anderson, and the Cars. The city came alive for me as a young person, the bands in my headphones lending me the courage to explore.”

  • Garbage

‘No Gods No Masters’ is the Wisconsin alt-rock band’s seventh record, and frontwoman Shirley Manson is feeling the symbolism. “This is our seventh record, the significant numerology of which affected the DNA of its content: the seven virtues, the seven sorrows, and the seven deadly sins,” she said in a statement. ‘No Gods No Masters’ is out June 11, and maybe go for the deluxe version because it includes a cover of Bowie’s “Starman” and the Patti Smith & Bruce Springsteen jam “Because The Night”. The deluxe version also has Garbage rarities like “No Horses”, “On Fire”, “Time Will Destroy Everything”, and more. Garbage will be touring the U.K. with Blondie this November, so we’ll see how that goes (probably/sadly from very far away).

  • Ellis

Her new EP, 'Nothing Is Sacred Anymore', arrives June 25 and the new single is called "What If Love Isn't Enough". It's a question the Hamilton, Ontario, native has pondered. "I mean, this is a question I've asked myself a bunch, usually when I'm being a little bit dramatic, which happens to be often," Ellis shared in a statement. "But I've also seen relationships fizzle out even when two people seem to really love each other. We place so much emphasis on love but I guess I just wonder about all the other stuff needed to make it last forever. I'm a hopeless romantic at heart but sometimes I'm just hopeless." The EP follows Ellis's debut record, 'Born Again', which was released last April.

The Sudbury pop-rockers will unleash their third record, 'Ten Easy Pieces', on June 11. We know what you're thinking: It would be a lot easier if they released 'Ten Easy Pieces' on June 10 because it's 'Ten' and 10. But June 10 is a Thursday, and all records come out on Fridays. Did you know that? It used to be Tuesdays. But now it's Fridays. "It's an interesting collection of songs for me," says Laj in a statement of the Ramones-y, Rolling Stones-y, Replacements-y collection of tracks that were recorded and mixed at La La Pop Shoppe in Sudbury. Will it be an interesting collection of songs for you? Find out on June 11.

  • AFI

    Big Hassle

"Tied To A Tree" is the latest single from the California rockers' new album, 'Bodies'. "This is not only my favourite song on the record, but an exemplification of the evolution of the band," guitarist Jade Puget said in a statement. Bassist Hunter Burgan added, "Every album is an opportunity to show people a snapshot of our evolution, and with this band, it's always something fresh." 'Bodies' drops June 11, and to celebrate, the band have unveiled a new line of merch, including a special deck of oracle cards(!), soy prayer candles, and incense.

Don’t worry. Carrie Brownstein and Corin Tucker are here to walk us down the path of wellness. Or at least they’re here to release their tenth album, ‘Path Of Wellness’, on June 11. They’re here to worry with us on their new single, “Worry With You”. The duo took to social media to announce the latest release. “We wrote it last spring and summer, holed up in Portland, and recorded it at the end of 2020. It’s the first S-K record we’ve produced ourselves,” they shared on Twitter.
