American singer-songwriter Beyonce expressed her support for her friend Meghan Markle in a powerful way. Beyonce dedicated the homepage of her website to the Duchess of Sussex and wrote a public thank-you note to her.
In the note, which comes after Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey, Beyonce thanked Meghan for her "courage and leadership".
Sharing a picture of the pair meeting for the very first time, along with their husbands, at the London premiere of The Lion King in the summer of 2019, Beyonce wrote, "Thank you Meghan for your courage and leadership. We are all strengthened and inspired by you (sic)."
BEYONCE'S EARLIER TRIBUTE TO MEGHAN
Beyonce has come forward in support of Meghan Markle earlier also. In February 2019, Beyonce gave Meghan a subtle shout-out at the BRIT Awards.
Beyonce and Jay-Z stood in front of a custom painting of Meghan during their speech while accepting an award for Best International Group. They even turned around to look at the artwork.
In the portrait, Meghan wore a tiara and pearls and looked like a queen. The scene was similar to the video of their song called APES**T, where they stand in front of a famous portrait of the Mona Lisa.
MEGHAN AND HARRY'S INTERVIEW WITH OPRAH
The interview with Oprah Winfrey, which was aired on Sunday (Monday IST), saw some shocking revelations made about the Royal family. Meghan revealed that few members of the family raised concerns with Harry over how dark the skin of their baby was going to be. The couple also talked about mental health, Harry's fall-out with his dad, the British Royal family cutting them off financially, and much more.
