Star of NBC's 'Young Rock' Signs With Buchwald (Exclusive) - Hollywood Reporter

Bradley Constant, who plays a teenage Dwayne Johnson in the series, has landed at the agency.

One of the stars of NBC's Young Rock is getting noticed.

Bradley Constant, who plays a teenage Dwayne Johnson in the biographical series, has signed with Buchwald. He'll continue to be repped by his talent manager Jackie Reid as well.

The 22 year old, who hails from Alabama, scored one of a few coveted roles playing the former professional wrestler at various points in his life. The show received a straight-to-series, 11-episode order last January and eventually made its debut February 16.

Constant plays Johnson in 1987, after he moved to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. At that time in his life, his parents had fallen on hard times, forcing him to resort to both shoplifting and minimum-wage work to make those around him think he's successful.

The single-camera comedy is co-written by former Fresh Off the Boat showrunner Nahnatchka Khan and her longtime collaborator Jeff Chiang. Both executive produce the series alongside Johnson and his Seven Bucks Productions' Dany Garcia, Hiram Garcia, Brian Gewirtz and Jennifer Carreras.

The Hollywood Reporter's chief TV critic Daniel Fienberg called Young Rock "a rather lovely tribute to Johnson's hard-working parents and the values they instilled in him during his migratory, economically precarious childhood."
