Selena Gomez is struggling to date while in the public eye as her army of committed fans seems to continuously get in the way. Recently, photos of the singer cozying up with her Only Murders in the Building co-star, Aaron Dominguez while filming a scene, surfaced online and Selenators went after Aaron, thinking the pair was a real couple. Now, Selena is saying that exact situation is why she has trouble dating.

When the photos surfaced of Sel and Aaron on set, Aaron revealed that he started getting messages from fans, showing off one specific one that read, "Yo ugly a*s boy stay the f*ck away from Selena." Luckily, Aaron was able to laugh it off and posted it on his story with the caption, "LOL."

"We had just started working together," Selena told the Los Angeles Times about the incident with Aaron. "I honestly thought, 'No wonder guys don’t want to date me!'"
Selena, though, is hoping that this issue will go away as she gets older. "I think people only care because I’m young, and the older I get the less they’ll care. For now it’s a part of the job that I don’t really like."
Still, Selena admitted that she's "grateful" to be single right now. The singer hasn't really dated anyone seriously since her relationship with The Weeknd ended in October 2017. Back in December 2020, there were rumors that Sel was seeing basketball player Jimmy Butler, but that was never confirmed.
