Soojin quits K-Pop group (G)I-DLE amid bullying allegations; label releases statement - Times of India

K-Pop star Soojin has officially quit the girl-group (G)I-DLE.
The 23-year-old's departure comes amidst allegations that the singer had bullied other students in school. Soojin has been on hiatus since March, even though she and her label denied the allegations.
The rumours about her bullying students only heightened after actress Seo Shin Ae came forward and alleged that she too was bullied by the star, who was her classmate at the time.
Cube Entertainment released a statement to announce the singer's departure from the band and said that (G)I-DLE will now be a five-member band.

"We bow our heads in apology for causing concern with the controversy surrounding Seo Soo-jin," the label said in a statement on Koreatimes.com.

"We will provide steadfast support and do our best to ensure (G)I-DLE can present more mature music and performances."
The agency also apologizes for having caused concern among fans with this controversy involving their artist.
Allegations of Soojin's bullying arose in February when a person made claims online about the singer having extorted money and valuables from others when she was in middle school.
The singer denied the allegations and Cube sued the accuser as well as others who left hateful comments.
