K-pop girl group BLACKPINK member Lisa, 24, has tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

The three other members of BLACKPINK, Jennie, Jisoo and Rosé, have not yet been classified as close contacts but as soon as Lisa was informed that she tested positive for COVID-19, they underwent polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests and are currently awaiting the results, YG Entertainment added.

The agency explained that “we shared the relevant information quickly and accurately with officials and took intensive preemptive measures beyond the guidelines of health authorities.”

“We will continue to support the health of our artists and staff members. If there is any change in the future, we will let you know immediately,” it added.

As the three other members underwent PCR tests and went into self-isolation, their schedules are expected to be cancelled. Rosé was supposed to attend a jewelry brand’s pop-up store event on Nov. 25 but decided otherwise, Korean media reported.

Lisa’s testing positive for COVID-19 came amid a surge in the number of coronavirus cases in South Korea.

A total of 4,115 new confirmed COVID-19 cases were recorded in South Korea on Nov. 24, up by 52 percent from 2,699 new cases on Nov. 23. There are 425,064 total confirmed cases in South Korea.
