Korean entertainment website Dispatch revealed today that global superstars Jennie Kim of Blackpink and G-Dragon (real name Kwon Ji Yong) of Big Bang are dating. According to the outlet, the YG Entertainment artistes have been dating for about a year and were spotted on multiple dates at each other’s houses, mostly at G-Dragon’s luxury villa in Hannam-dong.
“A lot of people at YG know about their relationship. Jennie’s mother also knows about her relationship with G-Dragon. She's thankful that he takes good care of her,” Dispatch quoted a close acquaintance as saying.
For the uninitiated, G-Dragon played a big role in priming K-pop fans for the eventual debut of Blackpink. In 2012, Jennie starred in G-Dragon's That XX music video as his love interest.

The following year, G-Dragon featured Jennie’s sultry vocals in Black, the title track for his second solo album, Coup d'Etat. At the time, G-Dragon was at the height of his fame, collectively from Bigbang’s immense popularity as well as his successful solo projects.
This paved the way for Blackpink’s entry into the highly competitive Korean entertainment industry. In fact, Jennie has made it no secret that G-Dragon guided her along with her debut preparations and changed her career.
