Fans on Twitter have also found a way to compare this music video to Grande's "34+35" video released in 2020.
This is not the first time the "Blinding Lights" singer (born Abel Tesfaye) and Grande have collaborated. They first worked together for the 2014 radio hit "Love Me Harder," and they later collaborated for the song "Off the Table" from Grande's 2020 album, Positions.
Tesfaye released "Save Your Tears" in August 2020 as a single off of his then-upcoming studio album After Hours. Although it was not as commercially successful as "Blinding Lights," the song received universal acclaim, and became a top-five hit. The original version has since sold more than one million copies in the U.S., and is certified platinum.
"Save Your Tears (Remix)" comes after the Dec. 2020 "Blinding Lights (Remix)," in which fans were not impressed with artist Rosalía. However, the latest remixed hit has continued to receive praise from Tesfaye and Grande's fans, as well as higher chart performance and video viewership compared to "Blinding Lights (Remix)."
The music video has received almost ten million views, and will likely reach between ten to fifteen million views by late afternoon. The video has also reached over one million likes, and its viewership is growing by the minute.
Currently, Tesfaye has not released information regarding when he will start working on a fifth studio album. However, After Hours maintains its popularity on streaming platforms, and it recently made enough money to donate one million dollars to fight hunger in Ethiopia.
Grande has also yet to discuss anything involving another album. However, she recently collaborated with Demi Lovato for Lovato's song "Met Him Last Night." She was also recently announced to becoming one of the judges on the upcoming season of The Voice.
"Save Your Tears (Remix)" is now available to stream on Apple Music and Spotify. The music video is posted on The Weeknd's YouTube page, with clips on other social media platforms.
