You may have played the game, but the big-screen adaptation of the Mortal Kombat series is almost upon us – and here's how to watch the movie's opening scene.
Mortal Kombat, which has not yet been given a UK release date, will be available in select cinemas and on the streaming platform HBO Max in the US from tomorrow (April 23). Its first seven minutes, however, can be caught right now on YouTube.
The brutal opener, which sets the scene for director Simon McQuoid's dramatic and bloody entry to the franchise, is yours to enjoy – or grimace at – above.
And when we say 'grimace', we really do mean it, as actor Lewis Tan has already warned fans that there are some pretty "gruesome" moments ahead.

Tan, who plays former MMA fighter Cole Young, recalled witnessing the aftermath of a fatality scene on set. "They're pretty gruesome," he explained.
"I walked on set one day and I didn't know what was going on, and I accidentally walked into a post-fatality set and I felt pretty sick to my stomach. I was like, 'What the hell is this? What happened here?'
"It looked like somebody destroyed a buffet line, but there was no food."

Mortal Kombat's violence isn't totally gratuitous, though, with Tan insisting the necessary fight scenes were done "really tastefully".
"[Simon McQuoid] didn't just try to be super gory and crazy," he said.
Mortal Kombat is due for release in the US on April 23 in cinemas and on HBO Max. Its UK release date has not yet been confirmed.
